Experience the natural beauty of Gariwerd (the Grampians National Park through exploring its world-famous hiking trails. You will discover majestic mountain panoramas, breathtaking waterfalls and enjoy the serenity of the Australian bush at its best. Full of native wildlife, the national park is home to many species of kangaroos, wallabies, emus & native birds.
Traditionally known as Gariwerd, this region is a spiritual mecca and special meeting place for local Tradtional Owners (the Jardwadjali & Djab Wurrung peoples). It is also home to the largest number of ancient Aboriginal rock art paintings and shelters in Victoria.
Gariwerd draws walkers from around the world. Hike to the highest peak, Duwil (Mount William), or explore the plethora of walks around Halls Gap and the Wonderland Range.
If you're not into hiking, there are many relaxing pursuits to enjoy in the Grampians too. Fishing, canoeing or kayaking at Lake Wartook, Lake Bellfield and Moora Moora Reservoir are also popular pastimes.
The Peaks Trail Lodge is located right across the road from Brambuk – The National Park & Cultural Centre which is an amazing resource to help you get the most of your time at Gariwerd.
